Greetings Fellow SBC Residents!
First, I must inform you that there WILL NOT be a Civic League meeting on Monday, April 9th because the meeting place, Second Calvary Baptist Church will be closed.
As you may know severe storms have begun earlier than usual in the mid-western part of the country. The tidewater area has been
spared these storms so far. Read last year's post about recognizing the signs of an approaching storm or tornado here:

As a result of the "warm" winter we can expect a very large mosquito population as well as other insects. Please keep your property free of standing water which provides a breeding place
for them.
Also the Nutria, a large rodent, has invaded the Virginia coast.
They originated in Florida and have been moving north and inhabiting the wetland marshes, which they destroy.
They are a little larger than a rat and have distinctive orange colored teeth and somewhat shaggy hair.
If you spot one in our community, please notify Norfolk's Animal Control.
That's it for now. Don't forget to visit our FaceBook Page at
